Apparently in Germany, if your DB train arrives at your destination between 1 hour and up to 2 hours late, you get 25% compensation, and if 2 hours or more, 50% compensation.

Both the personal and business Marriott credit cards have recently increased their signup bonuses to 80k Marriott points after $3,000 in spend. This is the highest offer I’ve ever seen, though it looks like the annual fee of $99 for the business card and $85 for the personal card are NOT waived. I don’t seem to see a bonus for adding an authorized user for this offer.

Via Point Me to the Plane, Air New Zealand business class from SFO, LAX, and a bit less so out of IAH are widely available to fly nonstop to Auckland (AKL). I was able to find a good amount of availability from SFO for the next few months.
It doesn’t look like continuing awards from AKL to Australia on Air New Zealand are very open though.
Via View from the Wing, JAL First class space is also widely available between Tokyo and Sydney from March to December this year.
I was livechatting Discover tonight to follow up on some 5% category and Apple Pay issues from Q4, and at the end the representative asked if I had any other questions while I had her there. I took the opportunity to ask for any spending promotions. I didn’t expect anything other than maybe a lower APR, since one of my favorite blogs, Doctor of Credit, had not reported anything recently.

Last week, Citi announced it was lowering the public offer for the Citi Thank You Premier to 40k points after meeting minimum spend requirements. This is obviously sad but probably expected given that it brings the bonus in line with the standard bonus for the Chase Sapphire Preferred.
Two days ago, Miles to Memories reported a back-door way to get the 50k Citi Premier offer to appear. Well, after some googling around, I found the front door:

Of particular interest to me is the Safeway promotion for $15 off your next Safeway shopping trip for buying a $125 eBay gift card. I do a lot of gift card buying/reselling from eBay, and I shop at Safeway, so this is a good promo for me.
EDIT: Whole Foods has sued Raise as well as sued or threatened to sue other gift card reselling sites. No site will take Whole Foods currently.

Many of you may have recently received a mailer from United titled “Reveal your mystery bonus of up to 75%, 80% or 85% more miles” for purchases of miles until December 14, 2015.
I checked my offer, and it was for 85% bonus miles. After taxes and fees, that brought the cost to 2.03 cents per mile, which was a price I was okay with, but ultimately passed on.
However, a data point from one of my friends, Josh, as well as FlyerTalk shows that the bonus actual goes up to 100% bonus miles.
Via Reddit, some people are getting targeted offers for the Barclays Aviator Red offering 1000 AAdvantage miles for adding an authorized user by December 31, 2015. There seems to be no spending requirement attached to this offer.
I personally also received an email title Earn More Miles this holiday for my Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Silver with the following:
There doesn’t seem to be any date restriction on my offer, but there’s no reason not to take advantage right away. So check your email! It’s an easy 1000 miles.
It looks like Amex has increased the offer on the Hilton HHonors Surpass to 80,000 points after $3000 minimum spend. The annual fee of $75 is NOT waived. This offer has been higher at 85,000 points, but difference is fairly minimal, so if you’re in need of Hilton points, it’s worth jumping on this now.
Although HHonors points have been majorly devalued in the last couple years, there are some great opportunities to be had when redeeming for Category 1/2 hotels. Check out this post by Travel is Free for some ideas.
